Your privacy while accessing our content and services is important to us. This page is to let you know what information we collect, how it is used and when it may be disclosed to third parties.

What information is collected?

SEQIN collects two types of information. The first is anonymous information provided by your web browser as you view our site and the second is personal information. Personal information can be supplied by you as part of your bookings for examinations and/or by your parent institution when supplying your examination papers or organising examinations on your behalf.

Anonymous Information

Every time you visit a web page, information such as your IP Address, browser type & version, operating system and referring search engine or website (if any) is recorded along with the page requested, the time of the request and the result of the request (ok, page not found etc). This information is completely anonymous and tells us how our visitors are using the site to help us make it more responsive to your needs.
If you are interested in finding out more about how web server logs can be analyzed, you can search Google (or your favourite search engine) and have a look at some of the log analyzers that are available.

Personal Information

When booking for examinations we require your name, mailing address and email address. You can optionally provide contact phone/fax numbers and other student numbers. Your attendance at exams will also be recorded.

Your provider university will provide us with information including your student number, unit & exam information, your name and an indication of any special requirements (for example if you are a NESB student).

Disclosure

Anonymous Information:

Information extracted from the web logs is for internal use only and is not distributed to third parties unless required by law or to police agencies at their request.

Personal Information:

SEQIN will only use your personal information for the purposes for which it was obtained. We do not sell lists (of email addresses for example) or provide your information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We will disclose information (such as attendance at an exam) to your provider university in order to fulfill our invigilation of your exam. Other information such as student name, number and course code may be divulged to your provider university for the purposes of indentifying a student should the need arise.

There will be occasions where it will be necessary for SEQIN to release some of your personal information to third parties. SEQIN may be required to disclose your personal information to third parties to provide the service you have requested, for example, if you purchase services such as examination supervision through the website, we will need to disclose your personal information to third parties in order to bill (depending on payment method selected) and deliver your requested services. However, the disclosure will only be made where it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which you disclosed your personal information. Other than stated above, we do not disclose personal information that you may give us, such as your name, address, email address or telephone number, to any organisation or person outside SEQIN unless you have authorised us to do so.

Disclosure will also be made when required by law and specific information to police agencies at their request.

Changing your information

You are able to request changes to the details held by SEQIN any time.
